Kit Carson Peak and Challenger Point with Chris Meloche and Seth Levine, 24 August 2002

We climbed the north buttress of Kit Carson peak (opposite the famous Prow on the south side). It's a great class 4 scramble up the knobby Crestone conglomerate, and it scared the crap out of me, since I was not terribly good with exposure. We descended via the standard route on the west side, which traverses over Challenger Point. You don't think Challenger is a separate fourteener? Neither does Chris. I do. Regardless, this is a great hike/climb. Chris took most of these photos.
