CU Group Work
We have carried out a series of measurements to characterize
the new Silicon Photo Detectors that have recently been produced in
Russia. This work has been carried out by Keith Drake and Elliot Smith.
They have placed the exciting results on their web sites which you can
access. smith's website
and drake's website
Our group at CU has created a number of documents that describe
specifically the measurements we have made to determine how well we can
carry out the construction of the scintillator based calorimeter:
- The work of Keith Drake, who has measured the thickness uniformity of
the extruded scintillator produced at Fermilab. The extruded scintillator
we received is nominally 5 mm. thick. The results are shown in
this report.
- The work of Eric Erdos,Martin Nagel, and Jesse Smock to measure the
relative improvement in light collection when we cover the scintillator
with Radiant Film instead of Tyvec. This work is shown in this
report.
The work of Keith Drake, Eric Erdos, Martin Nagel and Jesse Smock to
determine whether we loose light when the scintillating fiber is bent down
to radius of 2cm in radius. This work is in this
report.
